Lessie Malloy Monroe, 84, of 3453 Crenshaw Road, Lumber Bridge, NC died Monday April 26, 2010 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. She was born in Red Springs, NC November 6, 1925 to Lester Cobb Malloy and Bessie Culbreth Malloy. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and provided healthcare services to many local clients. A life long resident of Robeson County, she was preceeded in death by her husband, Robert Dixon Monroe, in 1976. She is survived by a son, Robert "Bobby" Dixon Monroe, Jr. and daughter, Dixie Lee Lewis, both of Lumber Bridge; sister, Mary Malloy Warren of Parkton; grandchildren, Preston Lewis, JQ Lewis, and Andrew Lewis; and granddaughter, Nyell Martha Lewis. Visitation will be at McNeill Mackie Funeral Home, St. Pauls, Thursday April 29, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with funeral services at Rex Presbyterian Church Friday April 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Bebe B. Briggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Arrangements by McNeill Mackie Funeral Home, St. Pauls, NC.
